A focused one on one session to design your custom Simon Jones Designs surfboard from the ground up. We’ll talk through your surfing, the waves you ride, reference boards, and what you’re trying to get out of the craft. From there, we’ll dial in the model direction, dimensions, rocker approach, and functional details that matter.
How Underground Division Works
1. Book a CallSchedule a time to chat with us.
Come in with a rough idea. What you like in your current quiver, what you don’t, and where this board is going to be surfed.
2. Design ConsultationMeet in person via phone. Design together.
A $55 AUD design consultation fee applies. This is the only additional custom charge.
3. Lock It InFinalise your Design & Deposit
Once the design is approved, a $500 AUD deposit secures your build and your board moves into production.
4. Build ProcessYour board is shaped, glassed, and finished.
Depending on complexity, the process runs over approximately 12 weeks.
5. Final InvoiceWe only take full payment when you are ready.
Around weeks 10 to 12, your final invoice is issued, including shipping if required.
6. Collection or DeliveryOnce complete and through final quality control.

You receive a fully bespoke surfboard, designed specifically for you.
Complete with a detailed build sheet and full technical specifications.
Support stays open throughout the process, whether by phone or email.
You’re part of it from start to finish.
Each board comes with a printed image & tech pack from the design and build process.
Your design is kept on file under your account, making future remakes or refinements straightforward.
Shipping is handled to suit your needs, wherever you are.
We can also help match fins and accessories if required.
In the end, it’s simple.

Stock boards are already built and ready to go.
Custom boards are made to order and take time. (8-12 week build time)
We offer three ways to order:
Series I – Stock Boards: Ready immediately
Series II – Custom (Stock Models): Built to order using proven designs
Series III – Underground Division: Fully custom, from the ground up.
Custom builds are typically around 8-12 weeks. This can vary depending on workload and conditions, but we’ll always keep you updated.

For all series III "Underground Division" orders, a AU $500 deposit is required to start a custom order, with the balance due before shipping or pickup.
All series II custom orders require full payment at checkout.
Series II customs allow size adjustments within our standard dimensions. Anything outside that moves into full custom territory.
Series II limits you to selected model sizes and colours. Series III lets you collaborate with us in building your dream fully bespoke board. There is an AU $55 charge added to all Series III orders.
